The course shows how Virtual Schemas can integrate foreign data sources into Exasol. Row Level Security can also be implemented with Virtual Schemas

- Adding BucketFS services and buckets
- Uploading JDBC drivers and the Virtual Schema jar file to BucketFS
- Creating a JDBC connection from Exasol to an Oracle database
- Creating a Virtual Schema Adapter script
- Integrating an Oracle Schema as Virtual Schema
- Controlling access to the Virtual Schema
- Maintaining the Virtual Schema
- Implementing Row Level Security with a Virtual Schema
The course contains videos, quizzes and hands-on exercises.
Who is this training for
Although the course is in the Developer track, Administrators who want to learn about Virtual Schemas may also enroll. The course Exasol Essentials is a prerequisite for this course. Mind that you import an Oracle Database as VirtualBox appliance during the hands-on labs of this course. Then you connect it to the Exasol Community Edition VirtualBox VM. Using a public demo account is not an option for this course.

What is the cost of the course?
All Exacademy courses are free. Certification is optional and charged with 150 EUR incl. VAT per attempt. One free exam attempt is granted per course if you complete 70% of the hands-on exercises.
How does the certification process work?
After completing the online training, you have the option to do a certification exam. The exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions and you need to achieve at least 75% to pass and to receive a certificate.
Will I be able to get help?
Each course has a Discussion Forum, where you can put your course related questions. Exasol staff monitors these.
