About This Course
This should be the first course you enroll to, as it's the foundation for all our other courses.
We cover the following topics:
- Comprehensive introduction to Exasol
- Database design recommendations for Exasol

- Understanding system and statistical tables
- ETL (Extract Transform Load) or ELT?
- EXPORT and IMPORT
The course contains videos, quizzes and hands-on exercises. We will show how to get access to an Exasol training database and provide you sample data that can used as a base dataset for your queries, views and scripts.
Who is this training for
This course is for everyone in a technical role who uses the Exasol database. It's the prerequisite for all our other courses. No prior experience in Exasol is needed, but we expect some SQL knowledge.

Where can I register for this training?
You can create an Exacademy account under https://exacademy.exasol.com. After logging in, you can enroll for Exasol online courses.
What is the cost of the course?
All Exacademy courses are free. Certification is optional and charged with 150 EUR incl. VAT per attempt. One free exam attempt is granted per course if you complete 70% of the hands-on exercises.
How does the certification process work?
After completing the online training, you have the option to do a certification exam. The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and you need to achieve at least 65% to pass and to receive a certificate. The exam is charged with 150 EUR incl. VAT per attempt.
