About This Course
In this training, we will teach you how to develop UDF Scripts in Exasol.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Analysis of polystructured data and Big Data
- UDF Scripts in Lua, Python, Java, and R
- Extension of built-in languages
- BucketFS
- Debugging UDF Scripts
- Connecting to external sources
- Practice-based examples
The course consists of videos, quizzes and hands-on exercises. Within the hands-on exercises, you will write your own UDF scripts on the Exasol Community Edition.
Who is this training for
This course has been designed for everyone who already completed the Exasol Essentials training course and who wants to learn more about developing UDF Scripts features in Exasol. You should be familiar with at least one of the following languages: Lua, Python, Java, or R.

What is the cost of the course?
All Exacademy courses are free-of-charge. Certification exams are charged with 150 EUR incl. VAT per attempt. One free exam attempt is granted per course if you complete 70% of the hands-on exercises.
How does the certification process work?
After completing the course, you have the option to take a certification exam. The exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions and you need to achieve at least 75% to pass and receive a certificate.
Will I be able to get help?
Each course has a Discussion Forum, where you can put your course related questions. Exasol staff monitors these.
