About This Course

In this training, we will teach you how to develop UDF Scripts in Exasol.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Analysis of polystructured data and Big Data
  • UDF Scripts in Lua, Python, Java, and R
  • Extension of built-in languages
  • BucketFS
  • Debugging UDF Scripts
  • Connecting to external sources
  • Practice-based examples

The course consists of videos, quizzes and hands-on exercises. Within the hands-on exercises, you will write your own UDF scripts on the Exasol Community Edition.

Who is this training for

This course has been designed for everyone who already completed the Exasol Certified Developer training course and who wants to learn more about developing UDF Scripts features in Exasol. You should be familiar with at least one of the following languages: Lua, Python, Java, or R.

Course Details

  • Duration: 2 weeks
  • Each week, we release new video material and hands-on exercises
  • Each week requires approximately 3-5 hours of your time, depending on your level of preparation.
  • You will receive a course completion confirmation at the end of the course if you achieve a 65% or above on graded material.

Where can I register for this training?

You can register for this Exacademy training in the Exasol User Portal.

What is the cost of the course?

Until 30. June 2019, we are offering all places on Exacademy training courses free-of-charge – including certification!

How does the certification process work?

After you successfully finished the online training (by achieving 65% on the hands-on exercises), you will be invited for a certification test. The test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions and you need to achieve at least 65% to pass and receive a certificate. If you fail, you have up to two free retries.

Will I be able to get help?

Each course has an active discussion section where trainees can help each other. In addition, the instructor(s), and other Exasol employees will monitor the forums and try to help. Often the fastest answer comes from another student. For all questions that are not directly related to the course content, you can use the user community or our support.
